Before another sell-out crowd the Chicago Cubs defended their World Series Championship by defeating the Buffalo Bisons in a 4 game series route. This marks the Cubs fifth straight world championship in the past 12 years. Dontrelle Willis pitched a four hit shutout with third baseman Nomar Garciaparra winning the MVP. In an interview in the clubhouse after the celebrations Cubs GM Steve Stone said he expected to keep the nucleus of this club together and looks forward to another title run in 2008.
